Rules for Executive Committee.

1. The membership will elect an executive committee of 4-8 members.

2. The foundation meeting appointed an ad hoc executive committee for the first year. This committee is composed of Denise Flood, Clare Healy, Maggie Moran, Aideen Jones

3. The executive committee will organise a members' Annual General Meeting before the end of 2012. This meeting will elect an executive committee

4. Members may offer themselves for election to the executive committee if proposed by two other members.

5. Executive committee members must resign after 2 years and may offer themselves for re-election.

6. No member may serve on the executive committee for longer than 6 years. When they have served for 6 years they must resign for at least 1 year before offering themselves for re-election

7. The executive committee will appoint a chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer.

8. An executive committee member may decide to resign in the middle of a year. In that case the committee may appoint another person to replace them temporarily until the next AGM at which point an election will take place to fill the vacancy.

9. The executive committee should meet at least four times in each year.

10. No decisions may be taken by the executive committee without a quorum (minimum 3) present at the meeting.

11. Decisions may be made by the executive committee on telephone meetings on condition that all members of the committee are notified and given opportunity to take part in the decision.

ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION
These articles of association (including duties of each member of the executive) should be written and passed by the first Annual General Meeting which is to be held before the end of 2012. These may then only be changed by a vote at a later AGM.

Membership
1. Category A - Providers of Montessori education/training in Ireland – number of member votes per organisation to be decided when Category B is established in 2012.
2. Category B – to be established in April 2012 - Professionals in the Montessori sector (graduates and students) – this part of the organisation to be set up later by members of the first part (Providers) when they are established.

Rules for Membership:

1. Each institute involved in providing Montessori education/ training in Ireland will be entitled to appoint 1 or 2 members.

2. When the appointed member of a Montessori education/training institute cannot attend a meeting the institute may appoint a representative for that meeting.

3. The membership will meet at least once a year for the Annual General Meeting. Other members' meeting may be organised by the executive committee.

4. The membership will agree on terms for Category B membership by April 2012.

5. Each member institute will pay an annual membership fee of €200 starting 1st January 2012
